Q. What is Nutribute?

Nutribute is an online platform where people and organisations ("Project Owners") can campaign and raise funds for projects to benefit the Baltic Sea ("Projects") and where Supporters can donate money ("Donation") to support those Projects.

Nutribute has been developed by Project NutriTrade and is operated by John Nurminen Foundation

Q. What kind of campaigns does Nutribute accept?

The acceptance of a Project for inclusion on the Website is at the sole discretion of John Nurminen Foundation (JNF). Submissions for Projects must meet certain qualifying criteria in order to be considered for listing on the Website. They must:

  1. reduce nutrient discharges, bind nutrients or remove them from the Baltic Sea;
  2. include the fundraising target (“Fundraising Target) and the expiry date of the campaign (“Fundraising Deadline”);
  3. include your name, email address and phone number;
  4. include a description of your Project and what you intend to raise funds for;
  5. include appropriate evidence of identity of the Project user account holder and details of the bank account to be used by the Project; and
  6. comply with the fundraising laws of Finland so that JNF can raise funds for the Project.

Q. How to start using Nutribute?

You need to register and activate your account to create a fundraising campaign or to donate. The process is as follows:

  1. Go to www.nutribute.org
  2. Click ”Sign up” in the upper righthand corner
  3. Create a username (= email address) and a password. Also tick the box “I’m not a robot”
  4. You will receive an email from Nutribute. Click on the link to activate your account

How to start a fundraising campaign?

  1. You first need to register and activate your account by completing steps 1-4 above
  2. On Nutribute homepage  www.nutribute.org, click ”Log in” in the upper righthand corner and enter your email and password
  3. Choose ”Create a campaign” and start describing your project. Save your texts by clicking the “Save” button
  4. If you want to continue later, you can find your saved draft by going to Nutribute homepage www.nutribute.org and selecting the hamburger (or triple bar) icon in the upper righthand corner, ”Dashboard” and ”Edit campaign”

What information is needed for a fundraising campaign?

  1. Basic information on your project (project name, idea and location)
  2. A fundraising goal (how much you plan to raise and when you need it)
  3. A pitching text explaining your project to potential donors and an image of your campaign. If you want, you can also boost your campaign with videos, links or expertise involved (voluntary)
  4. Finally, you need to determine the payment settings and prove your identity

Apart from point 12, all the information submitted will also be published on your campaign page.
